چکیده

A comparative analysis was made on the influence of corticotropin oligopeptides on rabbits' behaviour under acute stress conditions, or after the electrostimulation of the Vmh. The 4-10 fragment and analogue of corticotropin and tripeptide Pro-Gly-Pro was administered icv to the rabbits. It was proved that the analogue and 4-10 fragment had a significant influence on modification of animals' behaviour under acute stress conditions. There were, however, considerable differences between them in the form of reduction of the dynamics and time of reaction of analogue 4-10, which were the effect of the change of amino-acid-sequence. The applied tripeptide Pro-Gly-Pro had a marginal role in the change of rabbits’ behavioural pattern. The oligopeptides: 4-10 fragment and analogue of corticotropin significantly increased the positive behaviours that limited the extent and scale of stress influence on the organism.

Influence of Oligopeptides, the Fragment and Analogue 4-10 of Corticotropin, on the Behaviour of Rabbits under Spontaneous Conditions

Short peptides of corticotropin derivatives, fragment 4-10 and its analogue 4-10, were administered to rabbits into the lateral cerebral ventricle (icv) in a dose of 0.5 nmol/kg b.w. It was proved that the fragment and analogue significantly modified the animals’ behaviour. The difference in the activity between the fragment and its analogue was noted. The slighter influence of the analogue was...

The Enhancement of Drought Stress Tolerance of Kentucky Bluegrass by Prohexadione-Calcium Treatment

Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis L.) is one of the most widely used turfgrasses for home lawns, golf courses, parks, and athletic fields in temperate climates. Oxidative stress caused by drought stress is a major limiting factor for grass cultivation in arid and semi-arid regions. The objective of this study was to investigate whether Prohexadione-Calcium (Pro-Ca) may play a role in promoting ...

Effects of hydrogen peroxide-induced oxidative stress on the pattern of pro-apoptotic and anti-apoptotic genes expression during PC12 cells differentiation

Background and Objective: In neurodegenerative disorders, oxidative stress mediated by reactive oxygen species is strongly associated with increased neuronal damages that lead to apoptosis. Pro-apoptotic and anti-apoptotic gene expressions were changed during cell differentiation that affect cell viability and differentiation. This study was conducted to determine the effects of hydrogen peroxi...

H–d-Phe–d-Pro–Gly methyl ester hydrochloride monohydrate

The conformation of the title tripeptide methyl ester hydro-chloride monohydrate, 1-[2-(methoxycarbonylmethylaminocarbonyl)pyrrolidin-1-ylcarbonyl]-2-phenylethanaminium chloride monohydrate, C(17)H(24)N(3)O(4) (+)·Cl(-)·H(2)O, is extended, but the structure cannot be classified as any typical secondary structure. Interactions through water molecules and chloride ions were formed, in addition to...
